Ok, so I'm currently deployed, and I'm almost done with it, but I can not ****ing stand my work shop. I hate who I have to work for, and who I have to work with.

There are a few people that I like, including the main boss, but everyone else either annoys the crap out of me, or pisses me off.

Just 26 more days, and I can finally RDWHAHB.

Just keep imagining how good that beer is going to taste when you get home, then take a few deep pulls of O2 and RDWHA....... breath of fresh air....:mug:

26 days is just errrrr...... 26 days away:cross:

The guiness clone I have in bottles is going to be freaking awesome when it hits my thirsy lips.

Like Frank the Tank said, "Once it hits the lips, it's so good"

Lucky you. I still have 81 days on my deployment. Been here 226 allready and I can't wait to get home.

Are there any other colors out there besides tan and grey? That is all I have seen for a very long time.

You know it is getting bad when you read the lables on the apple juice in the d-fac and start calculating just how many 6 ounce boxes of juice it wold take to make a batch of Apfelwine....

The joys of dry countries where "Dust" is a weather condition.

Just got back from a visit home, started with a couple glasses of wine an hour out of kuwait, and kept drinking until flight back to Paris. :) Good beer, good wine, good vodka, Miss it already.

I should have sent over a better bottle with a stopper and airlock, and a packet of yeast in the mail for me. :D

Also, where are yall deployed? I'm at Manas in Kryrgyzstan. We have beer here, but they either taste like skuned out Corona, or Heineken. There is one porter that is alright. But I don't wanna drink a porter every time.

Being pissed off at the people you work with/for must be contagious right now, because I'm feeling the same way. Guess I can't complain too much, because I'm stateside while you guys are trying to find out how to ferment sand to make beer. Good luck on you deployments and getting back here where the beer is good.

If you deployed fellows ever get within 30 miles of me and let me know about it, you'll have all the beer you can stand and then some.

Don't take that the wrong way, now.

Thats because your Active Duty- In AD its everyones responsibility to make your life suck. Why? No one knows why.

I joined the Guard 2 years ago and holy crap my life now rocks! I have loved every second of this deployment except for the no beer policy because of the guys I work with and for. But hell I still look forward to leaving in 8 and being home in 16

When I was in Afghanistan I was in a similar situation where I worked for a disgusting 350 pound Tech Sargent. We only had near beer there of course, but I got by the tough days with a couple shot of nyquil, not quite buzzed but not all there either...........sweet.

Cant find that stuff now- AAFES took it off the shelf

Can't claim to be deployed, working supporting the troops as a contractor here in Kuwait. Won't even talk about the nonalcoholic crap they have here. Some of it may even taste good, but I just refuse to drink it on principle. :)

And sadly, as a dry coutnry, even living off base doesn't help me. There are drrinks available, if you know where to look, but illegal, and expensive as HELL.

I'll be done with AD in feb of 2010. I can not wait to get the **** out. I love serving my country, and I like my job, I'm just tired of all the BS.

I may go ANG though while I go to school so I can still travel. :D

If you got any questions feel free to ask.

Im putting in for pilot selection board this year. Last year for me to do it.

I joined the Guard 21 years ago and have never regretted a single day. I have seen my AD counterparts stress over the most simple things while us Guard guys are calm, laid back and relaxed.

Relax, join the Guard, Have a HomeBrew. RJGHHB!!!

I like it !!

Might need to use it more often.

As to where I am deployed, well the official answer is Southwest Asia. Not really "allowed" to say exactly where I am located. But if you saw the news a couple of weeks ago about the B-1 burning on the runway, that is where I am at.

Not getting shot at every day and we also have a 3 beer per day limit. I guess if it was something other than BMC and other canoe-lovemaking swill, I would be more excited about drinking one or two.

Ah yes, I know where you are at. I'm glad I'm not there, very busy for my job haha.

Can you tell me if that was a Dyess bird? Thats my home station.

I was TDY to Elmendorf, and as a person who absolutly hates the cold and snow, I'd go back in a heart beat.

Let me ask a question here...

I just got back from Kuwait and Iraq and we had nothing but our home brew imaginations to keep us going.

In places like Manas or Al Udied (where service members are allowed to have 2 or 3 beers per day) does GO #1 allow brewing your own? Or at least a making Apfelwein?

Michael

No- and its an immediate Courts Martial/Art 15/Send home. Especially with todays AF attitude towards Alcohol.

Because you are not giving your money to AAFES.

"an immediate Courts Martial/Art 15/Send home"

Crap.

'Cause I was all about thinking about sending a pakcet of yeast, a B-Bottle, and some dextrose to a HBTer in the 'Deid or Manas.

Crock of ****e.
