I Love My Job

So, im installing a phone system in some podunk county that is smaller than the one I live in pop of like 600 people. And im just about done, I informed my client that I could configure an auto attendant from my shop in Elizabeth City once they get the spanish recording they like. NOPE... he wants me to wait until he can get someone to record for him, so I get to wait a few hours for this.... so now I get to plan my corny keg set up while waiting oh and charge time. So far I plan to convert a chest freezer into a fridge, plenty of space to house 4 corny kegs and my co2. My only concern is where to drill out of the fridge. Should I go straight up or out the side.

Have you thought about building it with a collar? That way you can just drill through the wood.

I have but I have a bar that I would like to have a brass tap come out of. But I guess I could still just have one and just run the lines out of it rather than the tapps.

BTW, congrats on having a job you love. I also fall in the same category. When people pay you to do something you'd do anyway it's not work, it's employment.

Thanks. And yeah it is great but this client is being a pain In my ass at the moment. Stuff I could eaisly do and charge half the price at my office he wants me to wait around for.

I straight up hate my job, but it helps me afford the things I do like, so I keep showing up.

That is how mine use to be. I worked at Lowe's for a while and then my now business partner snatched me up and I am currently a 30% owner in an IT business.

I love my job too, mostly because I don't have to deal with clients of any sort, just a microscope.

I second the collar approach. Its pretty easy to drill through and run the lines to whatever your final configuration is.

Collars are nice. Allow you to convert it back if you change your mind (or SWMBO does). If you are planning on building it into a home bar, make a short one and insulate it into a coffin keezer or just fabricate a lid and build your own coffin style keezer. Drilling through the sides of a chest style fridge/freezer is risky as can be (spray with somerthing while it is on max to see where ice forms over the coils) because if you nick a line you are screwed.

Did I mention that I'm retired?

I'm in the same situation, except that I had to give up 5 weeks of vacation and 17 paid holidays per year to get there. That's the downside to retirement.
