I like your style, Dude, but do you have to use so many curse words?

Does my ******** incessant cursing offend you?

  • Yes, I'm very offended!

  • You could stand to keep it clean for all the children we have on here.

  • No, ****** keep it coming!

  • Ah, **** off!

****-off, I work on drilling rigs, cussing is like breathing most of the time. It's usually a pretty good indicator of how little confidence someone has if they keep cussing in a serious discussion. (I'm sure that's not the case with you though...

:D

Stupid ****ing ****** sucking, renegade elitist catering to the liberal media, making a mockery of the constitution, and playing war games with our soldiers over **** that they have no comprehension of, while trying to pander to the white trash welfare momma in her 2 sizes to small t-shirt standing knee deep in the hurricane water that she was too ******* dumb to get out of the way, standing next to her 400# sister in Pink Moo Moo sucking on a camel non filter cigarette and a 40 of Old English thinking about how they wish they would have voted, but couldn't cause they just can't read, and frankly didn't think that G.Dub would really cause a hurricane to come to their house, **** STICK Politicians

Truck driver? I ain't no truck driver. I'm a janitor. I just bought this truck cold cash. Now me and my family got enough cigarettes for the rest of our lives. I'M RICH BEYOTCH.

This whole idea that people curse because they have a small vocabulary? I don't really buy into that too much. I believe that some of us swear simply because it feels good.

I have a huge vocabulary, I know well over FIFTY words, and I don't give a **** who knows it!

Which sounds better?

"Paris Hilton is a morally questionable celebrity who seems poorly educated in the ways of the real world, probably due to her privelidged upbringing. I find that to be a disturbingly arousing quality"

or

"Paris Hilton is a stupid stuck up rich bitch. But I'd still shag her"

I know which version I understand the best. :)

PS That was merely a fictional example. In reality I would not shag Paris Hilton if there were any chance that the missus would find out.

Profanity doesn't offend me, but asterisks in place of it bugs the hell out of me. We are all adults here, I don't see why that is necessary.

Because many of us monitor HBD at work...in close quarters. And when someone decides to post a big **** you while people are near...it makes the sight less work friendly.

Why would you browse a forum at work that very clearly in bold words say THIS FORUM IS NOT WORK SAFE right on the entrance? I mean, I am at work now but no one here cares what I am doing nor are they looking at my computer.

Even though you p!ss me off most of the time, I don't give a F%%K how much you cuss. I'm Navy, and when I am on sea duty or just plain irritated I can drop the F_bomb like there is no tomorrow. Does it make me cool? Probably not, but it gets the FACKING point across.

+1 for that
After being underway for 6 months you can have an entire conversation using just the F word:mug:

Shut the Feck up and post a political rant or get started on a new mother fecking batch of brew. Cacksocks the get offended by words need to be drug out to the middle of the road and shot. Nobody really gives a sh!t what words you're using. :D

Why would you browse a forum at work that very clearly in bold words say THIS FORUM IS NOT WORK SAFE right on the entrance?...

Ummm...the entrance to this forum says no such thing. It says this on a few specific threads. The majority of the threads on this forum are work safe. Filtering obscenities keeps it that way.

I'm guessing that the vast majority of people on this thread between 7:00AM and 6:00PM (their local time) are viewing from work.

In my mind...effective cursing is an art. I have no problem with others who show lack of control. But they degrade the art form. As for censoring...this forum is a public forum and maintaining a modicum of decorum and self control can't be all that bad.

So the question is...who is going to be the first throw the "N" word around under the guise of "hey...it's free speech...deal with it"?

The Drunken Ramblings and Mindless Mumbling is the only **** sub-forum I will click on during work. I've almost clicked on some other things, when I see an interesting thread with a title that doesn't suggest the actual content.

The "N" word? Now I come to think about it, It would seem that racism has become more offensive to society than pornography. Maybe America is headed in the right direction after all!! :D

Oooh, I can't wait to explain to someone how the concept of "free speech" doesn't apply on a privately-owned message board!

I think everyone in this country could use a good old fashioned schoolin' with regards to what the 1st Amendment actually says. To wit:

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

So unless the government is making a law restricting your speech, it's not a really a free speech issue. I can't tell you how many ignorant people out there apparently think that the first amendment says "you can say whatever you want and nobody can stop you". :p

Well, you would say that! You are just a bloody left wing fascist conservative liberal hate mongering tree hugger!!.....Or something like that.

Do you really think people will limit their cursing to **** sections of this sight?

No. I don't think so. I appreciate the bleeping of curse words. - So Thank You!!

30% of the time while on HBT I'm actually viewing at work.

My employer monitors obscenity. If this site was considered obscene it would be blocked.

If tried accessing a blocked site repeatedly I would be reprimanded.

Like I said before I don't get offended easily. Curse words are vulgar methods of communication.

When I was in the Marine Corps the F bomb was used as a; verb, adverb noun, pronoun, adjective. As strange as this may sound it garnered respect in certain circles of communication. By that I mean in terms of humor and bluntness (Being Non-PC). The f-bomb was so common place that it was part of every day talk in lower rank enlisted folk. When high ranking officers addressed the troops they used the same vulgarity. Whether you call it pandering or talking down it energized the troops because they could relate better. Its like its almost another language. Hearing somebody talk like they do. Even if its gutter talk.

I know McKBrew knows what I am talking about.... :mug:

Bring it on Evan!

F*ck no I'm not f*cking offended. But you've f*ckin got some jumbo f*ckin c*ck & b*lls to divert a f*cking just-closed thread into f*cking a new f*ckin thread just to f*ckin air out some f*cking dirty c*ckswaddlers (underoos, if you don't f*ckin get it).

At f*ckin work, the only f*ckin rule I have to obey is don't f*ckin drop a f*ck-bomb in front of the f*ckin customers. To my boss? Sh*t, he'll f*ckin laugh and drop a f*ck right back at me.
