Hey guys, haven't seen much activity in the past cpl days. I forgot to fill the night time meds so I've been up all night unable to sleep. We're expecting some severe weather today, high risk for tornadoes all the way till tomorrow, so if you guys hear of random bottles of homebrew falling from the sky tonight on the news, well...It was good knowing ya. lol
On better notes, I think I Have finally found a house which will offer just about everything I need. A old co-worker of mine called me the other day when she heard I was looking for a new place to call home. It turns out, she and her husband just purchased a 50 acre farm which has a house on it that they wanted someone they knew to rent. They actually purchased this place simply to get a huge shop that the size that they were already going to be building. It was such a deal, the house was only a added bonus by the time they factored in the land.
Anyway, it's a brick 1970 house that has just been roofed which offers about 4-5 acres of yard, shade trees and garden space. It has a two bay shop with a cement floor, installed power gen set which supplies power to the whole house for power outages. The house itself is a 3 bed, 3 bath and full unfinished basement and two car garage. I think total it has about 3400 square feet with 2300 or so of that heated/ac. IN comparrison, the house I have now is only 1300sf. All this for only 300 bucks more a month than i'm paying now.
I'm trying to not get too ahead of myself since I've not seen the actual inside. The outside looks awesome! They told me new hardwood floors were recently installed, but the bathroom and kitchen was not updated. This scares me because I remember the puke green and yellow colors I grew up with in the 70's. lol
The house sits well off the road and offers complete privacy. I would be lying if I told you about all the brewing possibilities that are popping up in my head right now.
My problem is, the house that I am staying in now should close out by the end of the year. The house that the people are moving into from the place that I'm looking at also does not close out till the end of the year, and by contract, they don't have to be out till Feb. This leaves me with about 2-3 weeks that I will have to find some place to call home. I'm at loss as to how to handle this and keep it affordable. Maybe I can find some short term hotel/inn somewhere that offers cheap weekly rates.
We'll see how it works out.
One a clock two a clock rock three a clock rock
Fill in the rest, please

One thing I've learned about many good folk on this HBT site. Extremely creative people here. Also purists that for sure. I'm not pure to beer though. I like IPA, pale ale, and some stout. That's it. Put any fruit, bacon or chicken in my beer and you're worth shooting. (Not really, said that for effect). I'have a pretty simple beer palette. I drank some bud light today - gave me a sore throat and turbulent flatulence. Pretty sure once I start brewing again I will only brew and stick to a couple beer recipes. Id rather make a great beer , maybe two. That's it. Just how's I am.
