Pulled a 1/4 inch long splinter out of the gum where the last tooth was pulled not sure if it's bone or tooth, most of my roots curl into the jawbone so they have to cut the gum and split or third them so the roots can be rotated to be removed. :(
Yikes! Yeah I bet that was a bone shard.
So this is what the heebeegeebees feels like.

Exactly!

Why do I have an irresistable urge to go floss and brush my teeth now?

Thanks!

I can definitely relate to what you went through unfortunately.

The shots are the worst part. I was actually wondering earlier how many I'll get. Maybe after they give me a couple I won't feel the rest.

As crazy at is sounds I'm kind of looking forward to this. Kind of! It's final relief and closure, so to speak. It can't be worse than the pain I've endured over the years. I've even pulled a few teeth myself to save a hundred bucks each time.

With that said I'm still nervous.

And what do I keep wondering to myself???? I wonder how long it will be afterwards before I can have a beer?! hahaha..

Wow, I figured you'd be put under. I can't believe you'll be awake. :( The shots in the gums hurt, but the roof of the mouth was excruciating.

Hope you have a speedy recovery and can get back on the suds ASAP. They said at least 48 hrs until carbonated beverages. I'm thinking it will be a little longer before I can actually enjoy a beer and I don't see the point in drinking if I won't enjoy it. Hasn't stopped me from looking a beer porn all day.:D

I can take ^ and still work they effect me like aspirin. Advil is might as well be skittles. I can only take my migraine shots 2-3 times after that I need a couple of months body builds immunity to most meds :(
I hate those shots. They knock me out. Most of the time I'd rather just deal with the pain.

Good chopped liver is the food of the gods...
Like who? Cronus?

I pulled a couple of those out after the last time I got teeth pulled. It sounds horrible, but when I pulled mine out it didn't really hurt that much.

Mike are they going to knock you out? I can't imagine being conscious while the teeth are being removed. Best of health to you and congrats on the upcoming relief!

Bobbi, welcome back! Look forward to the pics.

Good chopped liver is the food of the gods, I tell you. If you get good chicken livers and cook them properly it has very little resemblance to the overcooked nasty liver that your mom forced you to eat as a kid.

  • 1 lb chicken livers
  • 2 tbsp. butter
  • 4-6 boiled eggs
  • 1 medium onion, minced.
  • Several tablespoons good paprika
  • Kosher sea salt and pepper to taste

  1. Saute the livers in butter just until juices run clear. Remove from heat.
  2. Put half of the minced onion in a metal bowl, put the hot livers and pan drippings on top, and grind/chop them with a pastry knife. These onions will partly cook in the heat. The membranes on the livers separate out onto the knife pretty easily, discard them.
  3. Toss in eggs, grind/chop them into the mixture.
  4. Add paprika, salt & pepper to taste. Several tablespoons of paprika is good here.
  5. Refrigerate until room temperature, add remaining half of minced onion

Serve on crackers, sandwiches, or (my favorite) use as a dip with pork rinds. Yes, pork rinds.

God I love chopped liver and pate

Thunder_Chicken... have you ever swiped out or augmented your butter for schmaltz?

I did once (basically cooked a chicken prior and saved the fat). That's the traditional way and you'd use that fat instead of butter. I highly recommend that if you can do it, makes it much more savory, especially if you spiced the original chicken nicely. I've also faked it a bit by adding some chicken boullion, but it isn't quite right.

Thanks again brother. Cheers to us both getting to have beer speedily!

Thanks a lot Dan.

I will indeed be awake for the procedure. I don't believe they usually knock people out for this process at this particular dentist, but I could be wrong.

I'm one of those paranoid types that doesn't want to be put under out of fear I'll never wake up, so I'd likely argue with them about it anyway.

What are you looking for? BBQ? Fish? Greek? Italian? Japanese? Ramen? Brazilian? Cypriot? Egyptian (faaaavorite)? Narrow it down and we'll roll from there! :)

All of the above! It started as a diner tour years ago, but there are only so many variations of hash and eggs and pot roast that you can eat. We're trying to branch it out.

Good food is my only qualifier, with a second qualifier is that the place not be pretentious. If I need to wear a tie and stick my pinkie out when I drink my tea, forget it. Some food is so good that you might have to wear it home.

Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner/Dessert (snacks & elevensies also permitted) each day for a two-day weekend, hitting all 5 boroughs, with transit/walking exploration of any cool stuff in between meals. Them are the "rules".

All this dentist talk gives me the creeps. Used to work in a shop where they used drill that sounded just like the dentist drill. Shivers up my spin whenever i heard it. Speedy recovery and better health to all.

Very toasty here today and first power outage of the summer occurred this evening. Fairly widespread. Two of my co-workers, one 15 miles east and the other 30 miles NW of here are out of power as well.

Cell towers must still be working though cause my phone works. 74

Sup everyone? I'm still alive in case you were wondering. I'm sure I missed a ton. Did you seriously put a bandana :ban: on Sean Connery's head Dan? Cracks me up. Anyway, I hope this finds you well and good.

Dan! How you doin Buddy?
Keep cool! Keep the refrigerator doors closed, it's going to be a while.

For those who don't know. Our local power sun station was hit by lightening at 19:00. Burned to the ground. From what I heard a total loss. 150,000+ without power on a day that was 105 and raining!

I left the living room windows open and everyone was asleep when I left home. The house was 84 at 20:30. I told them all if they get too hot to make a fort in the living room and sleep there.

Edison was estimating our house would get power restored at 03:00. They're now saying 7-9pm tomorrow night!

At work we've got full backup power and can generate almost indefinitely, so it'll be business as usual for me tonight.

Oh yeah, did I mention my wife is number 4 of the 5 of us to get the nasty flu that's going around. I had it Thursday, my youngest wed, my second fri and I had to pick Julie up from work this morning because she was afraid to drive home she was so weak. God's timing truly is his.

Luckily I've taught wilderness survival for the past 8 years, which has put me into contact with my fair share of whack job survivalists. I mean real doomsday, zombie, fall out shelter types. Picked up some good tips. We should be just fine until it comes back on without getting into our emergency supplies. Gonna teach the kids how to make an evaporation refrigerator tomorrow.
