That song, taking care of business.. made me cry... struck a cord. Hubby says it just shows my strength of character... that I haven't been able to keep up with the farm without his help. I asked why didn't his family help and he said we should be able to handle things, just me and him. But since March of last year he hasn't done anything, besides try to get well, and everything has been up to me. He said he thought I was strong, but now realizes I am fragile... and I guess that disappoints him. I really have been trying to keep up with the 350 acre farm... I mean, we still have electricity and plenty of food... I want to be able to step up and take care of business, but not capable of doing it all, only the best I can.

Sorry about the personal crap... life sucks.

Well I think a lot of us have had some hard times. Some are in bad times right now, others have been there so no need to apologize.

I can relate to saying at least we have plenty of food and electricity though.

I won't even going to but my issues are.
It does help to vent from time to time though.

What kind of farm do you have?

Long leaf pine trees, for timber mostly. Also organic vegetables, herbs and mushrooms. Sold through a local market. But money is from the trees. Just sitting back waiting for trees to grow, making costume designs for dogs to bring in extra money while we wait. I know I need to bring in more money right now from the farm, but until I get this sorghum seed in the ground, means fixing a tractor myself.... I will step up and take care of business. Hubby is just prodding me... trying to get me to step up. He means no harm and does not mean to be hurtful.

Growing mushrooms huh? I went through an upscale farmers market in the city where they were selling mushroom growing kits that you grow under a large glass cloche. Looks like you'd get a couple pounds off each harvest. What do you do?
