So I hosted a work party last weekend at my house. To appeal to my co-workers and their spouses/significant others I got a keg of Coors Light as most people, when I asked, said they drink light beer. Fine........... I had craftbrews and homebrews for myself and the 1 or 2 others who asked for some. The funny thing is that one of my co-workers husbands was complaining (multiple times) that I got Coors Light instead of Bud Light because he can piss in a cup and call it Coors!!!!!! SERIOUSLY??????? I would say the same of ANY light beer. Don't try to argue the point that one light beer is far superior to another when the actual problem is that you DRINK light beers!!!!!! Not that I don't enjoy an occasional light beer on a hot day while doing things around the house, I think light beers do have a place, but come on!!

But Bud Light is SUPERIOR drinkability. I don't see Coors saying anything about being superior, therefore, it's inferior.

I can tell the difference in taste between different light beers, but I need a bag of one week old pretzels, about 80% atmospheric humidity, a high pressure front rolling in from the southwest, and the planets aligned in their orbits to do so.

I absolutely love blind brand loyalty and total beer ignorance. I've had a guy tell me that one can of Budweiser is like drinking 2 light beers because it's so heavy.

I would argue that the Miller Lites triple hops brewed beer is by far the superior beer in the worst category of beer EVER. LMAO

I remember arguing the same point (Bud ICE over COORS) at one sad point long ago.

Just remember bretheren, there, but for the grace of the beer gods, go I.

We all had to start somewhere.......BUT!

NOW I AM THE MOST OBNOXIOUS BEER SNOB EVER!!!!!!!

I actually said to a waitress 3 or 4 weeks ago, "So, you have light american lager, light american lager, light american lager, OR light american lager. I'll have a COKE."

I sent back my ICY cold glass and asked for a NON cold glass.(different restaraunt)

I actively look DOWN on Guinness lovers across the world. (My neighbor who lives off disability, but appears to be FINE to hike and fish everyday and LIVES off of Keystone light and Busch NAMED HIS DOG GUINNESS..I rest my case and expect no further discussion of the subject;))

Either SNOB it up or be tolerant, but understand that our snobbery looks foolish to someone else.

I should also point out that he had no problems going back time after time to help kick the keg!!!!!!

While the coors/bud light statement was bad, I would have been even more disturbed by the fact that he had the stones to complain about FREE beer!

I would have politely told him to drink the beer I provide and say "thank you", or get the F*** out of my house!

There is no accounting for taste, I would have simply told the offending "beer expert" that the keg of coors light had one premium ingredient he was overlooking...it's called "free".

You probably didn't have time but it would have been interesting if you brewed a classic american pilsner and had them drink that. I wonder what the reaction would be when you told them later what it was and that you made it yourself. Could be the gateway to better beer...

You should have said " You're right" and pulled it out locked it in a closet and said "guess you get to drink a mans beer tonight" and handed him something with calories and flavor.

Yeah complaining about free beer is pretty lame. In regards to "Light beer" I will drink it. Who cares. I have a six pack in my fridge of coors light and Bud light for the BMC drinkers that come over, but dont get me wrong sometimes I will sneak into a corner and drink one myself. It makes me appreciate my beer that much more.

I like Stroh's when it comes to commercial average beer. It tastes/smells of Willamette hops,& even tastes decent as it warms up. You can't say that about many others in the category.

What a dick to complain about free beer.

I've been liking the new "Old" beers like Michelob Original Lager, and Schlitz, and I've always thought Strohs was pretty good for a light beer.

I just wish Stroh's would bring back their Bock. Damn, that stuff was addicting! My whole family loved it. I wouldn't consider there regular to be a lite beer. Pilsner/lager?...but good.

Though I have not bothered to confirm it, I have heard that Stroh's is an all-malt beer too (no adjuncts). That counts as a plus in my book.

Wow, what a refined palate on a *********gy ingrate!

I just watch "Beer Wars" the other night, and this reminds me of the blind-tasting part.

For the record I would have drunk your free beer and not complained a bit cause your free beer tastes grrrreat!!

You should have gone inside and "gotten him a bud light from your stash" (wink wink) just to see if he would notice it's more coors light.

I'm a beer snob...hell, I'm a pour snob. I ordered a Breckenridge Lucky U IPA the other day and the waitress brought the bottle over with glass in hand. She started to pour and I stopped her politely and said, "I don't mind pouring it, please?":p

Keep a can each of the big three in your fridge. When this happens again, give them a blind triangle tasting between "their" brand and one of the others.

I can taste the difference between Bud Light, Miller Lite, and Coors Light. I am not crazy about any of them, and I would have taken what is free. But I don't think you could fool me with them.

I havent had a miller in oh about hmm more than a thousand beers i think, i think its time again.Nestalgia. I seen a review on a budwieser ale,it reveiwed pretty good, anybody? Ive kinda had my eye on it the last 3 moths.Always like to try something once.
