ha ha ha.. I have a packet of notty floating around here somewhere. I JUST had it, and the strike water is on for this brew. I DO have some washed and started notty that does not look very good and I was gonna add the packet of dry to this. And by not looking very good, I have stepped it up once and never really saw any activity but there is a yeast layer across the bottom of the flask just not a huge amount like I would expect. I do have a couple of packets of s-o4 and a big starter of s-o4 ready to go but I don't think it is what I want for this brew. a VERY light brew

2 lbs 2 row

1lb 12oz 6 row

1lb 12oz flaked corn

.6oz cascade @60

1oz cascade at 0

basically the miller lite clone minus the dry hop

If you do not have yeast and can not get any soon. Pitch the 04 and try it. If you are out of options there is nothing else to do.

Put it in the ferm chamber and purge it, then plug? Get some yeast tomorrow?

or leave it open and put it in the garage lol. Like passedpawn said "spontaneous fermentation!"

I am gonna pitch the started notty...it will either work or it wont I guess. I justthink it is funny that I just had the yeast packet a day or two ago and cannot find it ANYWHERE now.

if you can hold off a day or two, if a new pack of yeast cant be gotten in that time frame, it may be possible to get a natural yeast culture going from the skins of unwashed apples. probably not helpful for what you want but sure, i said i would throw it in the mix

Ive made good brews using washed unstarted yeast before. What do u mean it doesn't look good?
Anyway, good luck in the search as i also suffer from short term memory loss.

I've done this before. Found it the day after in the vegetable drawer... Use what you have. Might not be the same beer, might even be better. Joy of home brewing.

Make sure your wife didn't throw it in the bread machine since she was out of Red Star.
