It's the first snowfall of the year, my wife is away for the day. I'm parenting 2 toddlers.

So far:

Bottled 18 - 7oz bottles of Saffron Ale
3 gallons of Dark Wheat wort boiling away
working out the details of a 1 gal test batch of cyser

I am relaxed
I am not worried
I am having a homebrew

After a 6-year hiatus, it's good to feel like a brewer again. That is all.

My 3-yr-old held a flashlight so I could see the fill level on the Saffron Ale. Dark green bottles, so this was really helpful. And she kept the 1-yr-old from playing stompy monster before I could cap them. She saved the batch!

Just a bit of semantics: They're YOUR kids, so you're not babysitting. You're parenting. Or parental rearing, as I like to call it.

Other than that, welcome to the forum, and welcome back to brewing!

The Only Waunakee In The World? How about that? I used to work at the Sentry store there back around 1990 or so......

BTW, I see you edited your OP just for me. Neat-O!

I've often thought that when I am eviloverlord of the universe, I'm going to found a new town and name it TheOtherWaunakee.

like bernie said, they're yours so you just have to keep them alive and you should be good. ;)

my daughter (8) just likes to make the first hop addition. after that she takes off to entertain herself. she likes to 'hold' the drill on teh barley crusher, but i think she knows it'd torque her wrist around if i wasn't holding it steady.
