I am a new old member who had been away so long my account was deactivated and because the email I originally registered with had been deleted, it just seemed easier to register all over again.
I’ve been brewing for about a decade. I’ve brewed about 60 batches. I don’t know exactly because sometimes when the bug bites me to brew, I’ll just pick up some ingredients I know will make a decent beer and cook it up.
I’ve never done anything other than all grain and I like to keep things simple and hands on. I’ve used the same 10 gallon Igloo cooler as a mash tun and the same bottling bucket for every batch (Yes, I’m still bottling and have no plans to keg anytime soon). I was using a PET carboy to ferment for a while but I’ve just gone back to the simple bucket with the drilled lid.
I did convert a chest freezer to a ferm chamber and made lagers for a while and that was really cool but now I’m mostly focused on ales again.
Anyway, I’m becoming more active with the hobby again and am even looking into joining a local club. Good to be back on HBT and I look forward to talking to you folks!
