Hydrometer reading

Is it possible to get an accurate reading in finished carbonated beer? Looking to get an abv reading cause I did not get a final gravity before kegging.

You could let the beer sit out and go flat, then take a reading.

I've done it, as papers said, let it go flat. Cap the test tube and shake, or just let it go flat on it's own, and then test.
