Very nice!! I've been wanting to make a batch of wine but have only gotten as far as collecting and de-labeling bottles. Welcome to the site! I've learned a lot from the fine people here and spent many an hour laughing at the antics that occur.

To answer the original question, I survive by consuming calories, some of them don't even come from homebrew!

You can of course put wine in beer bottles, very convenient to crown cork them than faffing about with corks.
I was lucky enough to get a lot of champagne bottles and they need a slightly larger bell on the capper and caps. I've been quite pleased with the wine kits I've made ( actually the wife the main consumer ).
