I've often thought that someplace somewhere someone must be doing a hops tasting. Having individual tastes of a single hop variety boiled in water, or trying 18 different SMASH brews that all use the same malt with a different hop in each. Hopefully it's been done, but if so I'm not sure how commonplace something like this is? It seems more likely that brewers and tasters become more familiar with the different varieties' individual characteristics through a much longer and more complex process of brewing, drinking, and research.
As brewers, how many different hop varieties have you brewed with?
How may of those do you feel you can correctly identify by by taste and /or aroma alone?
