I was reading through the big Cheap compact wort pump thread and would like to buy one of these $20 Solar Pumps to recirculate and whirlpool my wort so I don't have to stir it with an IC.

However the solar pumps have a black and a red wire that are supposed to be plugged into a battery.

Is it possible to plug this into a wall outlet via some converter?

If not, how do I determine which type of battery to buy based on the solar pump's specs? I'm a poor electrician :)

You will have to have a DC power supply. Looks like you don't need much. I would get at least three amps.

I went with this one. It's 2 amp rated and the motor specified in the first post is less than 1 amp so it should be good (plus it's a cake-walk to hook up!) I do agree though.. a little more room to spare on your power supply is always mo'betta.
