Restaurant guy gave me a large dill pickle pail. Worth cleaning to soak hoses etc. in? Best way to do it to get rid of pickle smell?

IMO If you are just soaking gear to get clean I am not sure odors could make their way to items soaking unless you are going longer than a few days.

As hard as I've tried I've never been able to get rid of the pickle smell in the ones I've got. But if you don't plan to ferment or store grains in them there's really no worries. I use some in the yard and the others to soak/de-label bottles.
