I'm making two separate 1-gallon batches of cider using Tree Top Apple juice. I've got a vial of liquid English Cider Yeast WLP775. Problem is, this vial is meant for a 5 gallon batch.
Should I just eyeball it and try to pour about a third of the vial into each 1-gallon carboy? I don't have a scale, only measuring cups and spoons.

Im assuming you dont have the means to do 5 gallons. I would think that would be fine but im sure people will say pitching more in this case might not be better.

My suggestion would be to wait and buy a pack of dry wine or ale yeast. Then save this vial for a 5 gallon bath. 99¢ for dry versus ?? for the liquid. Seems pricey.

Since you are only doing 2 gallons and not 3...just do half and half. I wouldn't bother with 1/3rds. Or...the other option would be to buy another gallon of juice and then do 1/3rds. ;)

^^

I second this. It's really difficult to divide the vial by less than half, honestly dividing it by half isn't always easy depending on how active the yeast decides to be. You'll be fine; you're not over pitching enough for it to be relevant.

I've done exactly that dozens of times.
