I have changed my mind on what my next brew will be and I have picked the
love2brew easy blonde extract kit. I am wanting to add apricot flavoring to it when I secondary.

So my question is how much should I add. I bought the brewers best liquid apricot flavoring which is only 4oz. The bottle says to add 6 to 7 oz per 5 gallons. I was doing research on how much to add and I have read that it all depends on the style of beer your adding it to.

Its a 5 gallon batch so would using a puree be better or buy more of the liquid flavoring? I don't want it to be really strong but I do want to taste it kind of like Magic Hat 9.

Adding flavoring is a personal thing; everyone has a different threshold of "enough" flavoring. If you choose to use fresh fruit, I would add in secondary and keep in mind as the brew ages the level of perceived flavor will increase. You might want to use both, just very sparingly...

That's what I figured but wasnt sure if there was a set amount of either. So I know I just add to secondary for a week and then just taste and see if that was enough? Then what just add more and for how much longer? Should I use a different yeast?

Some of the stuff I read said when using fruit additions you should use a dryer yeast? The kit came with US-05 will that be ok to use with this.

I know im asking a lot of questions just want to learn as much as I can from other seasoned home brewers. :mug:
