I now also roasted a pound of the other $3.99/lb coffee I got from Burman's, a Brazilian Mogiana 17/18. I roasted both the Colombian and the Brazilian a bit towards the darker side, but not black. A few beans have oil on the surface. (My DeLonghi Magnifica doesn't like too much oil on the beans.) To my surprise both are very drinkable, not only for breakfast (americano with sugar and milk), but also as (short) espresso. So maybe I don't need to spend more than $4 per pound?I roasted one pound of very affordable Burman's coffee ($3.99/lb, Colombian Supremo Antioquia | Burman Coffee). I just poured some into the hopper, so within the next few days I should know whether I can taste the difference. Not 100% sure what I'm hoping for...

I would venture to say that you are enjoying the larger batch capability the bullet provides @Lax coach!!!
I looked at your location on the map once to see if that was slang for Canada. The finger lakes area seems like a nice place. Have you roasted Cuban coffee before, any good?Roasted 3/4 a pound of Cuban and Ethiopian beans today.

I bought a 5 pound bag of Cuban beans when I was in Toronto last year before the pandemic and slowly roast a little bit here and there. It’s good, nothing mind blowing or anything. It has a good body with a nutty and woody character to it.I looked at your location on the map once to see if that was slang for Canada. The finger lakes area seems like a nice place.
