Since 2018 is fast approaching why not start a thread to track how many pounds of coffee we roast throughout the year?

Just like the homebrew and Cider count threads we can start the same thing with roasted coffee.

Add your roasted quantity to the previous posters count and repeat. Happy roasting everyone and I look forward to see how much is roasted this coming year!

I'll start the count. I roasted a half a pound of Sweet Maria's Ethiopia Yukiro Cooperative (GCX-5521) today. I really enjoy this bean!

0 + 0.5 = 0.5 pounds

I will add names and amounts of coffees I have roasted over the last 3 weeks, then give a tally to the count at the end in parenthesis...I roast in increments in ounces but will convert to lbs.

Columbia Narino El Tambo, 1/14/18 for 24 ounces and again on 1/23/18 for 28 ounces (3.25 lb.)
Guatemala Proyecto Xinabajul Hoja Blanca, 1/14/18 for 32 ounces (2 lb.)
Honduras Royal Reserve, 1/14/18, for 24 ounces (1.5 lb.)
Ethiopia Gr. 1 Dry Process Yirgachaffe Dumerso, 1/14/18 for 16 ounces (1 lb.)
Kopi Luwac, 1/14/18 for 16 ounces (1 lb.)
Costa Rica Helsar Asdrubal Chaves, 1/14/18 for 16 ounces (1 lb.)
Panama Finca Santa Teresa Lavado, 1/14/18 for 16 ounces and again on 1/23/18 for 24 ounces (2.5 lb.)
Mexico Organic La Cascada, 1/14/18 for 16 ounces and again on 1/23/18 for 36 ounces (3.25 lb.)
El Salvador Angel Mountain, 1/27/18 for 16 ounces (1 lb.)
Ethiopia Guji, 1/27/18 for 16 ounces (1 lb.)

for a grand total of 17.5 pounds roasted...so.....

1.5 + 17.5 = 19.0 lbs. to date for thread count.

I roasted a half pound of these two beans. Good thing I placed another order with Sweet Maria’s b/c this was the last of my coffee.

21 + 1 = 22 lbs so far!!

Since it was in the mid to upper 60's last night, I was able to roast out in the garage and spare my family from the smell of roasting.

0.5# Burundi Kayansa Kibingo (GCX-5654)

0.5# Kenya Nyeri Karuthi (GCX-5409)

Total - 39.8 pounds!

Did a pound of Guatemala Xinabajul Lo Major de Cuilco (GCX-5630) a few days ago.

Today I’m working on a pound of Kenya Kirinyaga Thurguri AB (GCX-5662).

43.3 + 2 = 45.3

Since until the end of April I was roasting for a local coffee house, my counts would really throw this off. So, instead, I'll just put in my for personal use counts.

2.5 lbs Ethiopian Sidamo
2.5 lbs Kenya AA Twiga

45.3 + 5 = 50.3

So far this year:

6 lbs of Costa Rica Familia Bonillia
20 lbs of Rwanda "Milles Collines" Peaberry
20 lbs of Guatemala Proyecto Xinabajul -Familia Perez
18 lbs of Burundi Kazoza N'Ikawa Station

So 64 lbs so far. Next up (after the last 2 lbs of the Burundi): Rwanda Kivu Kanzu Lot 9. I'll order another 40 lbs in August, and that should be just enough to carry me through the end of the year. I'm guessing my total will be around 125 lbs for 2018.

This is all personal use, 100% ground in my grinder and 97% brewed in my drip or cold brewer.

Dang that's a lot of coffee! :coff4:

I was nowhere near as far into the Burundi as I thought on my last post. The bag was actually more than half full. So I'll finally roast the last of it this morning, which will bring me to 66 lbs so far this year.

For the purposes of this thread, that brings our aggregate total to 125.3 lbs.

Four pounds total today.
1.75 of an Ethiopian bean
0.75 of a Malawi bean
0.75 of a Peru bean
0.75 of a Colombian bean

130.3 + 4 = 134.4

Another 0.75 pounds of Colombia beans. On the road for a few weeks and I need some good coffee.

The last total should have been 134.3 so I’m taking that.

134.3 + 0.75 = 135.05

Roasted 10 lbs of Rwanda Kivu Kanzu this past weekend, which brings me personally to 76 lbs so far this year, and the total for the thread to 147.93 lbs.
