I made a lager yeast starter and was going to brew today...my daughter woke up sick so it didn't happen, I am going to be in Scotland for the next two weekends. Will it last? Is there a way to wake it up when I get back?

Cold crash it until you get back, then feed it a small starter the day before you brew. You aren't trying to grow more cells, per se, just get them ready to start eating again.

How cold? I can leave it the fridge where it is at 55 or I can drop it in my keezer where it at to 34. When you say give it a small starter would you recommend 2 cups water 1/4 cup DME?

I typically cold crash in my fridge set at 37F so I think your keezer would be the better option to go with.

As for how much to use when you give it a gentle bump up, let it come to room temp/pitching temp and add about a half cup of wort to it roughly 15-30 minutes before pitching and you should be just fine.

You may also want to decant it before you add the new wort to your yeast slurry.

Thank you!

I just did this with some Conan yeast that had been decanting in the kegerator for 13 days and it took off within a few hours after pitch no problem.

Awesome, thanks again...it'll be decanting for over three weeks by time I get back from Scotland.
