Normally I head to the Smokies (mountains, or hills to you Westerners) for camping and kayaking, but as we had company this year I did the urban thing. Friday in Wilmington sightseeing (the aquarium was super cool). Saturday I dropped the shoppers off at the mall and went to the beerstore to hang out a little while. Grilled a tenderloin roast on pecan wood in the evening, and it was definitely good eats.
Did see a pretty good movie yesterday: Joyeux Noel. It's set in the trenches of WW I in Flanders and combines several actual events up and down the line into one movie: both sides called mini-truces in their own areas and Christmas caroling, Christmas masses, buring of the dead, and even soccer matches broke out in No Man's Land until the superiors who were safely tucked away in comfortable cities heard about it and punished all involved.
