There is a place here in GA that has a 2-3 hour tubing ride in what is essentially a big creek. Usually we just mix really strong mixed drinks in nalgene bottles and take them down. But I would love to take a keg of beer down the river, HAHAHAHA. Keep in mind -- alcohol is not permitted on the creek.

So this is what I'm thinking -- 3 gallon cornies (2 of them if possible) -- Anyone have any experience with them?

How do you keep them carbonated/cold in such conditions? I would love to have a pair of 3 gallon kegs full of good beer -- it would be the funniest damn thing in the world.

Ha...Consider that thread a list of things NOT to attempt on the river. :cross:

I hard, rolling cooler with some CO2 chargers would be ideal. I wouldn't risk a paintball tank and regulator on the river. Something like this should work:

I'm liking that -- just a lot of $$$. Right now I'm thinking about using my carbonator cap to fill up a handful of 2 liter bottles. 3 Gallon Cornies are damn expensive!

Sorry, portable kegging setups are rarely cheap. I guess you just missed the $50 3 gallon keg sale.

Ya, 2 liter soda bottles are cheap and easy. I've done that a couple of times on the river but, like you hinted in the original post, that ain't sexy....
