I live in Maryland and am looking to start growing my own hops, just wondering if anyone knew of a site that tells what hops grow best in what areas.

I've looked for awhile. I thought I remembered seeing a chart somewhere but can't recall where

I did find this from googling trying to find a chart

"The majority of the world’s commercial hop production occurs between latitudes 35 and 55 degrees, either north or south of the equator. Day length during the growing season, as determined by latitude, has a major effect on yield."

I'm in South Central PA and have had luck growing Cascade the past two years.

+1 I will be brewing a lot of beer containing cascade hops this fall with my harvest. Northern brewer hops did pretty well too, but nothing like the mass of cascade. *edit I am in the Philadelphia area.

Thanks I just ordered a book on homegrown hops and am hopeful it will be able to help

Check out Annapolis Home Brew. They'll be able to give you a lot of insight and guidance. Much better than any My LHBS I've ever been to.

Thanks I was just in getting a new hydrometer and didn't even think to ask.

It's a sticky in the hop-growing section. There's an abundance of information available there as well as just with some simple google searches. Hope that helps!

good luck in your endeavor. And I second the recommendation of asking someone at Annapolis Homebrew. They seem very knowledgeable there
