While wandering around COSTCO yesterday I spotted a case of Sam Adams' IPA Hopology. It has 4 each of 6 different IPAs. Cost here in Hawai`i $25 + recycle fee.

Drinking right now the DARK DEPTHS Baltic IPA. I guess they took a Baltic Porter, hopped it up, and lagered it and now it's an IPA. LOL.

But all in all it's an nice drink. I don't have the taste buds I was born with and only know good or bad and it's good.

:tank:

:mug:

I also thought the Dark Depths was good, but my favorite is the Grumpy Monk. It has a nice flavor and the hops are not overpowering like in some IPA's.

We were bottling yesterday and sampled one of each, but had enough before that I can't remember much about what I drank! LOL Hope the bottling was good. :drunk: Now I can try one at a time and think them over slowly and sober. :mug:

fwiw, two year running thread here.

Between two weeks of flu followed by two months with a wounded back, and in spite of it all working 60 hour weeks, brewing came to a crashing halt December 28 - when I actually had almost 70 gallons of kegged brew on hand. Right now I'm down to a bit over 15 gallons, and one of my six taps is dry. Tragic.

To help extend what I had on hand, as soon as I got the word straight from the SA mailing list I scooted over to my local packy and picked up four of the Hopology half cases. Kept one, gave the others to my sons - and helped them drink them, of course ;) .

I liked the Dark Depths the best, then the Monk and the Voyage, but I did enjoy all six brews. And no off flavors noted here. Again.

[also fwiw, those were literally the only beers I've bought from a store in over a year (my pipeline is normally very deep). Had to be done, though, to conserve what I had left. But tomorrow I'm back in the saddle with a double brew day! Yeehaw! :ban: ]

Cheers!
