Hop Growing in North Texas

I'm interested in growing hops here in the DFW area. Given that we are a little south of the optimum growing area and that our summers can be quite hot, does anyone have any suggestions re: what hops might do well here -- and which ones to avoid. I brew mainly ales.

i would stay away from the english ones & try to give them some shade in the afternoon. east side of the house
