This is my first home brew ever so go with me on this! Any suggestions before I begin the brew? This is an extract brew BTW. I'll try to record most of it but no promises!

Read everything you can before brew day and by all means keep it simple. Don't bother with a secondary, just dry hop in the primary. Only been doing this a year and a half and simplifying our recipes and process has had the most profound effect on quality (temp control is a close second). Cleanliness and sanitation is also very important. Focus on the basics and keep reading.
