homemade grain mill

I'm very new to brewing and not quite ready for AG yet but I enjoy looking ahead. One project I have been reading about is building a grain mill. The important item is the rollers. 2 1/2" is pretty small for not being knurled. Keep in mind those rollers are hollow. I would guess it would not pull any grain thru.

If I wanted to make my own grain mill, I would search eBay for a pair of pegs like kids have on the back of their bicycles to stand on. Most of the decent ones are knurled and already threaded. Just a thought...

Unfortunately Walmart didn't have knarled (sp) pegs so I had to get them off of Amazon. It may be a while before I get this project done considering how long Amazon can take.
