So I got a Barnes and Noble gift card for Christmas. What's some good homebrewing books for somebody just startin out. The only book I have right now is "The Complete Joy of Homebrewing."

I just got "Radical Brewing" by Randy Mosher for Christmas. It's really a fun book and has a lot of history and stories along with several unorthodox recipes. I am suspicious of the maturation times that he recommends with his recipes, but am thinking of brewing a version of the Saison Buffoon recipe.

The two best are already mentioned - Complete Joy, which you have, and How to Brew. The other book I'd recommend is Brewing Classic Styles, because it has a lot of nice recipes with good information about the character of each beer style. If you're curious about a beer style, you can read about it and grab a very basic recipe with both extract and all-grain options. I've made learned several styles using this book.
