Home Brew Contest coming up

So I entered myself into this home brew contest at a local bar on my College campus. It's in the beginning December (12/7), but I'm trying to find some threads about general guidelines of what a brewmaster will be looking for in the contest. Do most HB contests look for the same thing? Any suggestions/ recommendations will be greatly appreciated... Thanks!

Most contests follow the BJCP guidelines. They could have any rules they want though. You need to read them.

That's not necessarily true. BJCP recognition of a competition requires that judging is based on guidelines but there is no requirement that they be the BJCP guidelines.

But in any case, read the rules.
