So i have to move the cable modem in the house down to a better location in the house....fortunately there is already a cable that runs around the house to the cable box from a previous installed dish....

My question is what is the best product to use to ensure that hole is sealed from water and bugs.

Silicone caulk (I have had great success with GE Silicone II) found near the paint in the big box stores.

OR

Duct Seal. Buy a brick of it around the electrical supplies. Around $2. Soft, pliable, grey putty you sometimes see where wires enter your house.

Spray foam the inside of the hole and after it's cured cut off the excess and silicone it.
