I've always hoped to hear about a brewery just walking past the first x number of people who lined up earlier than they were asked to and allowing the people that showed up at a reasonable time to go in first. A brewery with as much clout and adoration as Hill Farm could easily get away with this and avoid backlash. Or better yet, just spread out the daily allocation of Ann randomly throughout the day.
I could care less about how it’s allocated, but considering that people regularly ignore requests for people to not arrive early (at many breweries) I think one solution would be to just not sell the allocated beers at anyone in line more than 30 minutes prior to opening. Stamp people’s hands as they line up and then just don’t sell to anyone with a stamped hand.

I assume that would solve people lining up too early but most likely something else even more annoying would start occurring.

I don't know what Friday was like, but on the Thursday this year there was Ann, Art Plum, Clover and a bunch of Flora - all delicious and available to anyone there - amazing!

Was Shaun not kicking people out when they showed up at the crack of dawn for DBD b1? I showed up right at 8:30 when he said and got lucky, but I heard of people showing up earlier and being told to leave. Could put a time in the release announcement and then there's no excuse and you could only justifiably complain to yourself if you got there too early and didn't get anything or had to leave and come back.

One person on the facebook group said that Phil is iffy if Ann will last beyond today, anyone else who is there today able to confirm or deny this?

I still prefer the full silent release approach. All breweries should do it once they hit it big, especially when they already have a membership to ensure their "most loyal" customers have access anyway. But what do I know, I haven't been to HF in like two years.

We NEED you for both pics, stories, and what happens when the bottles run out and people start trading beer for a sip of Ann.

Honestly, I saw no chaos. All was pretty well organized and things moved at a decent pace. No complaints about having to share a 375, especially given the cost of admission. I've not experienced this in the past, but they only sold Ann in the "drink-only" line and the last register (i.e. you couldn't get a bottle when it was your turn to get your growler filled). The line for bottle service was to the door for as long as I was there (until 1pm or so). Menu for those interested.

The retail space was also quite busy when I left:

And for those curious, the roads were muddy but my Civic made it without issue. Came from Hardwick/15 and left down Taylor Road/Rt. 16.

Can't wait to crack my first S&S 9 can!

Nice to see that Mom is gonna share her bottle of Ann with the kids.

Word in the dumpster fire FB groups is Phil said another crowd like today and Ann won’t make it.
