The woman who would happily serve anyone ISO Marie before the others who were queued up for rar ticks was the real MVP. Spent a good portion of the day chatting with Adair and drinking her beers and Marie.
I’d love to see a dedicated lager table this year. Somewhere near the music so I don’t have to feel like a ******* idiot again. Maybe even a special lagers-and-music-only ticket, which comes with a 1L mug instead of the stemware.

Started as a joke, but seriously... that sounds awesome now that I wrote it down.

Just wish the shitlords wouldn't have used that "Left Line" opportunity to cut into that "rar ticks queue" from the side. Seriously, **** those guys.

Meh I had no interest in waiting for that TBH man. So many good beers. The name of that Canadian brewery escapes me but they were one of my favorites.

Did a pretty structured blind BA Saison tasting yesterday (third party pouring, no talking about the beers during, etc.) and these are the results:

Not surprisingly HF stuff were three of the top seven. Also, I know, I know, no Art, Ann, (insert any number of other CD here), etc., but what we had was plenty, and deal with it.

Edit: parenthesis near the beers were the order in the tasting, and the parentheses near the ratings are the weighted rating.
I enjoy the fact no one gave out any 5's. Didn't want to be that guy.

Trou Du Diable? Auval? Dunham?

Sadly TDD was bought by Molson recently.
Auval is pretty hyped in the Cdn/Quebec scene. Decent for sure. Not sold on the hype yet.
Dunham is very good. They've collab'd with Jester King in the past and I've never been disappointed in anything they've done.

Le Trou de Diable?
Auval?
Brasserie Dunham?

While I agree that most of the best beers I had were from the booths with little to no line, don't make me feel like a schmuck because I waited for a pour of Flora BBR ;)

Wanna say it was Auval.

Props to Marc for steering me towards those CDN breweries. Probably would've missed them without his guidance :)
I know that other than the Peche Mortel our beer doesn't have much "hype" around it outside our community so it's fun to share them with people that are not familiar with the products. I hope to see some of these breweries come back again and hopefully some different ones as well. Of everyone I talked to no one was dissapointed in what they had from them... Generally speaking that is

dunham is great stuff.. have yet to tick auval.. hard to come by.... does bellwoods do much in way of farmhouse ales.. i know i've had some sort of saison from them but doesn't seem like they do many

any new Canadian places starting to pop off.. figured it was just a matter of time

Not sure how "farmhousy" Bellwoods could get in downtown Toronto but they do have some saisons, I am not a big fan of them. The products are good and all but I don't enjoy them enough to spent any kind of time, energy and money in trading them... Being from Montreal that is. Also Auval is hard for anyone to get unless you live out that way. When we get it in Montreal you have to line up at the one or two places that get it for hours in the hopes of scoring a bottle or two... Nope!

That is why it's cool to have them show up at fests

Speaking of which, I am going to bring this back on topic with some HF related info... And lambic, can't foget the lambic lol

We implemented the Pilsner Pavillion at BFNA last year. All pilsners/lagers outside near the food trucks & music. It’s not really a pavilion, mind you - just separate taps out of a refrigerated truck, but I like alliteration so we called it that.

I tried to convince Shaun to bring back Harvest Fest with liters of lager. Technically, he only declined the fest due to cold weather.

I'm saying there might be a chance.

yeah i can understand that.. bellwoods isn't a farmhouse spot.

Do you know if any of the outskirt areas get any Auval... Magog/Sherbrooke ish? When i come to visit i'm on Lac Massawippi so trudging to Montreal doesn't happen often but would love to try some Auval
