You've never been?!!? Whaaaaat. Give Burly some love some time, I've got a couch with your name on it buddy

I've been to Burlington once... just to hit up Farmhouse Tap... I just find it hard to go to VT and go to the most "city-like" place hahaha

hell yeah! her macarons are dope too!

For M&C8, does anyone know what "Double George" is?

"Release #8 is a blend of whiskey and bourbon barrels ranging from 20 to 24 months. Components include Aaron, Double George, Genealogy of Morals, and Everett."

Foam is a must hit...... in the summer anyway. Their beers are good but the space is just awesome. Great way to kill a summer afternoon.
Second this. I was up in mid September, but it was insanely warm that weekend for VT. Sat outside and enjoyed the view of Lake Champlain and sipped on some great hoppy beer. It was tough to leave.

Wife and I were there in September too. It was absurdly hot the day we were in Burlington, but we still loved our time at Foam. Will definitely be making that a must-hit every time up from now on.

Hen of the Wood for dinner, I suggest on the early side. Then, go to ProPig for a few more beers and a late night sampling of a small plate or two.

This is what is called a win-win. Let's not overthink things here.

Those damn Pro Pig fries late-night the night before FoFA last year were a game changer. This man is correct.

For posterity on cuisine: Michaels on the Hill is a great eatery for fine dining with a very different vibe than Hen of Wood. More classical, less neaveau. Chef owned establishment.
FWIW, Hen of the Wood is amazingly good. I just wanted to add another killer spot, not take anything away from HoTW.

My wife and I ate there on our first anniversary of dating back in 2007. If they are even half as good as they were then now, I would highly recommend eating there. Great dining experience and amazing food.

Hell yes
I’ve driven past and wondered about that place many times.
Do it
Michael's feels like a dated fine dining place... they are a couple decades behind
To me, it's more 'timeless VT' than it is outdated, but it is def not a neaveau fine dining establishment. Best venison I have ever had doe.

See... Hen is what I expect as timeless VT... great food, prepared right... perfect ambiance without the 80's obsession of white tablecloth stuffiness... food wasn't bad. Then again, haven't been in Michael's since like 2012

I’ll have to strongly disagree with you there.

That said, I do look at Pro Pig as a better lunch option versus dinner, and I prefer to hang, eat, and drink in the back/brewery versus the front/bar.

Fair enough. I'll have to give their house lineup another shot next time I'm in Waterbury. Maybe it's just that I'm overly spoiled in PDX with food and beer in general and focus on drinking as much HF as humanly possible while in VT, to the detriment of other options. And I agree with the sentiment about it generally being unfair to directly compare them to HotW, as they are different types of establishments. Even given my criticism, that doesn't stop me from going, as I do like the vibe of the place, and the staff has always been very nice.

AutumnBeerLove, any idea when (if?) the HF online shop will be back in action? One of my #garbagecats ripped a giant hole in the most essential shirt in my wardrobe... SAD! #firstworldproblems
