i've had a feeling hop quality across the board was going downhill... a lot of beers from a lot of places don't quite hit the mark anymore... curious to see how things play out for HF here, would love to try some of these cans from some top notch hops i'm sure they are of higher quality then most places hops

100% agreed. It's awesome to see HF focusing on relationships and sourcing world class ingredients when other breweries are just dumping as much lactose/fruit/hop particulate as they can into a beer.

Shaun Hill is easily the best brewer in the world. There's honestly no one else remotely in his class, in my estimation. These beers are so much better than anything else I've had, in their styles, and this is true across so many different types of beer. It's just unbelievable the degree to which I enjoy these beers more than other representations of the same style. I don't say this lightly either. It would be convenient if I didn't need to drive a thousand miles for my favorite beers, but that's just the reality of the situation.

Sneaky copy pasta. I almost thought your second paragraph was real until I got to the second sentence. Well done.

Here to see if Os posted about pies yet...
Nope.

I agree that Shaun is a top notch brewer and definitely one of the best out there. But nobody "remotely in his class?" There are some damn fine brewers on this planet. I bet Shaun would be the first to admit that there are definitely others that are well within his class.

I get what you're saying.

Had a twilight growler last night... kinda sad it didn't see bottle format last year, because my bottles are long gone. Could have gone for some Holger Danske bottles too. Until next time xoxo

On that topic, have they said anything about reopening up CW to additional people for this year/future years? Or is it a set number of members?

Not for this year. The number of available spots is very small. So each member gets to nominate one person and a limited few will be selected.

cool approach to any open spots.. wish i had gotten in the first round but think the bi-annual pickup slots weren't as ample as the quarterly spots

need to get back up there but probably not in the cards till May/Jun/Jul

I forgot who said they got the same message. Maybe MikeG? Disclosure: not sent to me but sent to a friend.

There was a bit of a storm of this sort of activity on the tire fire HF Facebook trading groups. Nominating someone entails vouching for them putting your membership at stake if they do something dumb and get kicked out, and club rules prohibit profiting from your membership. Trading a nomination to a stranger for bottles both seems not worth the risk and against the rules of the club, not to mention the many friends most club members could likely think of to nominate before a rando with a generic trade offer o_O

Ooooorrr you take the best offer from the absolute biggest ******* whom Shaun would NEVER let in, and you enjoy the free beer.
