So I'm drinking Aaron, Anna, George, and Everett, among a bunch of other really good beers. I know this will make me come off as an HF fanboy, but I don't really care:

Shaun Hill is easily the best brewer in the world. There's honestly no one else remotely in his class, in my estimation. These beers are so much better than anything else I've had, in their styles, and this is true across so many different types of beer. It's just unbelievable the degree to which I enjoy these beers more than other representations of the same style. I don't say this lightly either. It would be convenient if I didn't need to drive a thousand miles for my favorite beers, but that's just the reality of the situation.

It's apples to oranges. Schwing could easily have the broadest range of brewing skill but some of those Germans and Czechs who have been cranking out unfiltered Pilsner Urquell and other lagers probably deserve a shout-out, too. Just because they're not trying to make foeder saisons and random beers named after Frau Hildemar and Uncle Eintracht shouldn't be held against them.

This is what I judge a brewer/brewery by. Its one thing to specialize in a specific style, but its another thing to kill beers in a wide range of styles - from lagers to saisons to ba blends, he does it all and at a world class clip/ I wouldnt disagree with this post.

Just the fact that my favorite Porter, Brown Ale, Black IPA, DIPA, non BA Saison, BA Saison, and tied BA barleywine come from the same brewery says a lot.

Did you ever hear the tragedy of J.Wakefield The Wise? No? I thought not. It’s not a story the Brewers Association would tell you. It’s a brewers legend. Wakefield was a Dark Lord of Fermentation, so powerful and so wise he could use the adjuncts to influence the midichlorians to create hype… He had such a knowledge of the malt, he could even keep the raffling shitlords he cared about from going broke.

The adjunct side of the pastry stout is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be unnatural.

Made a run up yesterday and although I got into a little one car accident on the way home, it was totally worth it. CD Plum, Damon & E. were absolutely fantastic. I don't it's possible to beat a breakfast pie paired with Twilight on Nitro, just a beautiful thing.

Really isn't a bad time to go up there, and days like today proved that. Grey skies and cold weather, but for some reason this is by far my favorite time of year to go up. Always meet so many cool & interesting people up there!

currently drinking on a 2/25/16 Anna that is just phenomenal. I had this same bottle around a year ago and it was not bad, but oddly Brett forward for Anna. This bottle with more age is in perfect balance.

From last night, 12/14/16 Florence. Wanted to check in at about a year in the bottle and it was thoroughly enjoyable. Not a ton of variation from a fresh bottle, just delicious Florence as always.

Interestingly, my neighbors came over with cookies after I shoveled their driveway. I somewhat jokingly asked if they wanted to try a beer, as they see me walking into my house with boxes of beer what seems like daily. They accepted, and were big fans of Florence. Now I have two more people to buy for in Vermont.
