Can anyone suggest good camping near HF? Thank you.

I've stayed in a few places up there...not the closest, but my favorites were Little River SP and Smuggler's Notch. I think one of the closest is Elmore, but it was too exposed and close to a noisy road. As far as primitive camping, Willoughby State Forest is very close and is very nice.

I really like Oregon Brook. It's about 15 mins away from HF, right off 122 on your way there if you are coming from 91. Fairly cheap too. They have a crazy, huge field they rent out to groups that I got last September.

This pic is only like half of it. Included two outhouses, fire pit area, grill and some picnic tables, space for parking. No other people around us

Elmore is my preferred campground, about a 5 minute drive or so into Morrisville. Belview is a good choice as well - fairly close to Hill and Parker Pie.

Had no issues in my Toyota Camry (aside from backing out from a downhill) on my two December trips. If you're going tomorrow or Friday I'd wager you're good as it's warm right now.
