it really varies... depending on what beers are ready... there's almost always bottles of one of their non limited options these days... as for limited stuff, it really could be back to back weeks or skip a couple weeks... they do last a lot longer than they used to... as long as you are not looking to always hit some super limited release, you can always go up there and get great beer in bottles or growlers and it's a really amazing experience.

Cool, thanks for the info. I've been wanting to go up for a couple of years, can't wait to finally get there.

I've decided to take a spur of the moment trip up there today, probably be there around 1ish...if anyone's in the area and wants to split a bottle or something hit me up

I've never been disappointed. Hell since the new tasting room opened I think the day with the "worst" on-site bottle selection still had 3F gueuze.

Agreed. And as testament to this comment. This is what I'm drinking right now...on a Wednesday.

Also mags of flora BBR and WOL SARA available.

Most of my excitement from winning this lottery would be to finally have a good excuse to make it up that way multiple times a year. I've always been wanting to go (not just for HF) and take in the nature and snowboarding. My wife also has family in Burlington so we could visit them and maybe also extend it into a Montreal trip.

Holy **** I didn't realize there was an essay portion of the lottery. You're a shoe in!

You guys keep saying the word lottery.

Lottery implies that everyone who enters has a fair shake at getting in. Go back and look at the verbiage of the Ann and Flora Cuvee releases and you'll see the terms "Winners and Winning" were used frequently as if a 2011 aids free version of Charlie Sheen wrote the descriptions. Also take note that ticketstoday ran both of those selections and that they closed on a set day with winners announced later that same day.

Now read the CW description again and look at the contrast in how this is being run (waiting 4 days to announce winners, ran through their own site, no use of the word lotto/winners).

This is a selection of people who will embody the purpose Shaun is seeking. I honestly believe come Monday that all the loyal heavy hitters who make routine trips up to Greensboro and have been for the past 4-5 years will be ushered in while your mom/neighbor/co-worker/mailman who you convinced to enter will be the happy donors of $1 to VT kids in need.

Then again I could be completely wrong. Either way, good luck to everyone as registration closes in less than 2 hours.

Long process to select the ones they already knew they'd select..

You forgot to include that we faked the moon landing and Bush caused 9/11.

It is actually a brilliant way to extract money from mules and people looking to cash in that have no real loyalty or ties to the brewery. Had they publicly stated it was not a lotto it would prevent Joe Shmoe from having his 10 buddies sign up. Doing it the way they did earned them 4-5K for charity while they now look at a list and select those names that are recognizable and friends to their operation.

I've been to HF more in the past year (5 times) than I ever have - and that's with a 2 year old who hates car rides, so I'm hoping that helps out.

Plus I brought AutumnBeerLove and the guys some L&B pizza back in April, so I think that should count for something.

On the minus side, my wife's due date for our 2nd child is right around the time of the first bi-annual pick-up, so that's going to be an interesting sell if I get in.

Could anyone here proxy for me in case she goes into labor then? The hospital is Methodist Hospital in Park Slope, Brooklyn. Just keep telling her to breath.

I feel like there's a group of people you're missing between "heavy hitters" and "shitlord." I have always enjoyed HF beers when I've had the chance to try them. I recently visited their brewery and enjoyed myself immensely. I only signed myself up for the lottery, didn't get X amount of friends to join in so I can pay their airfare/hotel/membership/bottle costs.

If they do what you're thinking they did to folks like me.. that's the real shitlord move. I'm down to pay $1 to any charity, but intentionally "grey area"ing a club signup chance to cut the wheat from the chaff's dollar bills is kind of predatory if you ask me

Or it is because a new employee wrote the CW description who was not here to write the previous lotteries you mention.

If you read the same thing I did, I'm not sure why you thought it was a lottery. Is the word lottery on that page anywhere?

You must have turned around on 91 when Phish said they weren't letting any more cars in because of the mud.

No, it's not, but neither is the sentiment that "most dollars spent and days here" equals "supporting the vision of Hill Farmstead"

Honestly, I won't be one bit upset if my dollar goes for nothing more than Greensboro education. What sucks is to hear HF homers insinuate that anyone who entered that isn't part of their turtle club is a patsy in some sort of easy dollar grab.
