yeah that 6 years sounds super interesting.. man i'm not going to want to check this thread too much this week

as an aside, drank my last CD10 last night.. had been since December 2014 last i had it. Held up great, still lots of wine flavors and oak.

It's probably a reasonable price, just makes me a little sad, that's my favorite beer ever and honestly I don't think I'd pay that personally, that's all. No judgement of what prices get set as...

one of my favorites ever as well... that said, we split the bottle so it cost me the same it costed me retail which I ended up sharing anyways... add to that that it's vintage now and the price that goes with onsite prices as opposed to retail... I was able to justify splurging on it...

i will never pay the onsite prices for anything 'vintage'. I don't like the feeling of being bent over.
price may or may not be reasonable, different strokes for different folks.

That Le Serrasin is way more than I'd spend on something incrementally better than the $10 saisons.

Am I alone when I say that Le Sarrasin peaked at least a year ago? I had my last bottle a couple months back and while it was still amazing, it was a fraction of what it was when I had it in early 2015. Again (to stop the homers from rioting), still a GREAT beer today but it was a mind blowing experience a year or so after it was released.

Can't say I could see myself dropping $40 or $25 to split this with friends, but then again I don't have friends (def no shot at those magnums). Which by the way while on that topic; you can split a 750ml with 2 people but you can't split a 1.5L with 4?

K I'm done.

I had a bottle in June of 2014 that was my favorite saison ever. It was equally as good at the FoFA that happened after the initial release.

Opened my other bottle at the end of January this year and it wasn't as good as I remembered, and I had it in my literal cellar at 55 degrees since purchase. It was still fantastic though.

I should clarify, when I say it wasn't as good as I remembered, it had gotten a little more tart with time, and one of the aspects I enjoyed initially was that the tartness was more subtle. Definitely not trying to bad mouth it or anything, because it's my favorite saison ever.

Definitely not alone, Sarassin easily is my favorite Saison Shaun ever produced and in my top 5. But I feel it peaked about a year ago as well.

All this peaking last year talk makes me feel better for drinking all my bottles last year and not having any right now
