Are we all going to the same wedding that Saturday? Would be a hell of a bottle share!

Camping at Elmore a couple nights earlier that week though if anyone wants to join me by the fire for a bottle or two.

The part I find most interested about the article is this:

"Winnimere takes the Forsterkase idea and goes to the next level. Wheels receive the same spruce wrapping— from trees grown on the Northern Vermont farm— but they're washed in a lambic-style beer from Hill Farmstead Brewery up the road. The beer is made specifically for the cheese, and the brewery is teeny tiny, with a cult-like following and numerous accolades."

I wonder what this "lambic-style" beer is that's made specifically for the cheese.

It may have been phenomenology. I remember trying a JH cheese washed in that. I don't remember it being winnimere though but I'm assuming this would be what he let them use

Hill Farmstead owner Shaun Hill used to make beer in one of Jasper Hill Farm’s buildings. And now the World Beer Cup award-winner has joined forces with his cheesemaking neighbors for Winnimere, an artisanal cow’s milk cheese that is wrapped in spruce bark, washed in beer (a prototype that Hill crafted just for this purpose) and aged for two months. The resulting cheese has a woodsy herbal flavor. “Our target is trying to develop an authentic terroir between the cheese and milk and our own microorganisms,” Hill says. He hopes to release the prototype beer ”a barrel-aged ale to be called Jasper” in small bottles alongside the cheese for pairing next winter.

Where do TB'ers like to set up shop afterwards? Burlington? Stowe? Waterbury?
Looking at accommodation options in hopes I get a ticket, and my wife wants to tag along.

really all spread out... some of us stay up north. others stay down in Waterbury/Stowe area... really depends what you want to do before/after

Two options I've used on HF-related trips, both very successfully:

1. Old Stagecoach in Waterbury. If you go the Waterbury route, this is the best place to stay. It's within stumbling distance from all the bars, and the huevos rancheros for breakfast are a must-try. Go there and eat the huevos for breakfast even if you're not staying there. Also a Focal Banger mimosa washes them down really well.

2. AirBnB-type arrangement in the Northeast Kingdom (area near HF itself). There's lots of options here, and you're close to both HF and Parker Pie. Plenty of non-beer related activities in this area too (hiking, lake stuff, etc.).

Yeah I'm partial to Waterbury as well - would be a fun hour back on a party bus after the fest as well haha

FYI Stagecoach appears booked up that weekend except for one room on the Sat only.

That's not surprising but I'd say if you want to go that option, keep an eye on it and watch for cancellations once FoFA ticket emails start going out and people miss out and/or make other plans (like AirBnB with a big group).

I'm planning to. I need to go up to DC anyway to submit a visa application at the Chinese embassy, so that's already a little under half-way there. I start teaching summer classes the day after Memorial Day so it would effectively be my summer vacation.
