This batch of BA Everett might be my favorite BA dark beer from HF ever. Batch 1 of BoT is the only other dark beer of theirs that might be better.

I said this about Madness and Civ 5 but I had one of these last night and it's really close.

M&C 5 was actually the other beer I was thinking about when making my mildly drunk declaration. I'd have this batch of BA Everett, M&C5 and Bot batch 1 in my top 3. Probably best three BA dark beers regardless of Brewers but I love HF's approach to dark beers.

If we're going to loop Aaron in with the stouts/porters as a dark beer, that's gonna be tough to beat. Otherwise, I'd probably have to with M&C 5 out of the ones I've had. To quote the bartender yesterday when I poured her a sample from my bottle "it makes me feel funny in my bathing suit parts".

BG&E is still my favorite. Had it again yesterday and it's still perfect. Best HF dark beer is so tough though. Aaron, Damon, M&C 5 also right up there haha

Madness and Civil 1 and Damon are probably my top 2.

I didn't love Damon b2 right after release and I traded most of it away for as much flora b5 as I could get (no ragrets) but opening my last bottles the year after made me wish I saved more.

Had M&C 1 for the first time this past weekend and thought it was great. I think I prefer it to any Bourbon Damon batch.

I was there for a show last March, and don't recall them having much in the way of craft. I think we just took down PBR tallboys and cheap whiskey, but it was my bachelor party and thus is kind of hazy...

ha yup, bachelor party. Thinking Pink Floyd cover band before the hillbilly strippers come over. May just see if I can drink every focal banger in Waterbury instead.

Stayed at Stowe Inn on Valentine's weekend. Focal at Doc Ponds (along with some HF drafts and stuff), Focal at Green Goddess cafe for brunch. I think we even drank a Focal at Rimrocks which is a great cheezy late night spot to play Buck Hunter and slug Heady. Shouldn't be much trouble to find.

I thought M&C 2 was better than 1. Bigger on the flavor but slightly weak on aroma. Almost can't imagine BA Everett being in that realm given the track record but now I'm looking forward to trying the new batch.

I gotta say - Aaron might be the best beer I've ever had, and BG&E was just sex in a glass. That said, I domed a BA Everett a week or so ago and it was just incredible. The barrel character on that beer was akin to BCBS on a smaller base. I think it'll get even better in time too, as will WoL De Molen which I thought was a touch hot. Haven't had M&C 5 but if it's the sum of it's components that'll be the winner for me.

Haven't had M&C 5 but if it's the sum of it's components that'll be the winner for me.

I drank an MC5 with a professional brewer who is not a big fan of Mr. Hill. He took a sip and just said "God damnit."

Bummed to hear about the bachelor party issues -- I read on that "other site" that there were similar issues at other breweries too. Might be time for breweries to ban these sort of "beer tour" things. I'm sure they'd hate to turn away business, but it would certainly seem that places like HF are doing alright without goons like these....

WoL De Molen was great. Was boozy and sweet but not in an artificial way like most "hot" beers are. Aaron was exceptional. BG&E was superb. The 24 month or whatever BA everett was absurb. Need to drink my M&C 2. Bourbon damon is underrated; my favorite of the three. I liked the bourbon and maderia genealogies much more than most people. The fear and trembling set I got to try probably after their prime but still enjoyed greatly. Bacon.

M&C 1 is still my favorite though. I once drank 25oz of M&C 1 at a beer festival in about half an hour. There was no line so I just stood there and slowly drank the minikeg. I have no idea what other people at the festival were thinking.

Iliketurtles was practically drinking from the tap. Probably the only time I've seen this strongman close to drunk.

Looks like a new Casita bottle this week - Te amo. I sure hope that one time i'm up there they have some, always seem to miss them
