I actually find that Bierkraft's growler prices are pretty fair. Bottles on the other hand...

That being said, there's no better feeling than walking into Pony, Tiger, Ginger Man, etc and seeing HF on tap when you had no idea it would be there
Or walking in to a bottle share at Top Hops and realizing someone brought a sixtel of Edward :)

Honestly I don't want to pay Torst prices for HF. I'll gladly travel to 4th Ave/Tiger/wherever.
You'd be surprised. During that opening week, Tørst had Edward, Florence, and Everett (I believe?) all for $5/8oz. That's highly reasonable to me, especially for such a regarded brewery.

Yeah I was there for it, but seeing the way pricing has gone there since opening I wouldn't hope for the same. You're likely looking at $7-8 for an 8oz pour

Anyone have any idea what happened/is happening with the batch of Convivial Suarez that was mentioned a while ago?

As of a month ago, still a bit sulfuric using the old wine/bottle conditioning yeast (new, more stable and nearly non-sulfuric bottle conditioning yeast going forward....).

It's the HF difference.... close isn't close enough.

Related: I like wine barrel saisons.

Great lineup of beers for hopheads today:
Abner, Double Citra, Harlan, Susan

I'll be there Saturday to grab Arthur and Soigne. Maybe I can beg Shaun for some Bot / Port Damon but I hear both of those will be out over the next 2-3 weeks with BoT out before Thanksgiving and Port Damon 1st week of December.

Really excited to drink BoT and Sankt Hans on tap at the tap takeover on Saturday night. going to be a total blast! Four people in my local meet up beer group are going too.

Is BoT before thanksgiving? I thought the recent facebook post mentioned BoT after thanksgiving, pre-Christmas? If it's pre-thanksgiving I'm going to be making a lot of trips in the next few weeks...

I saw Shaun say on Twitter that BoT was waiting on the labels to arrive which come this week.

That was on Monday. I took that as it's ready just needs labels. maybe it's still carbonating?

Double Citra was way high on the cat piss aroma. Usually I'm not as sensitive like other people are to those hops and have drank it many times without any problem, so that was kind of weird. I was ready to buy a couple 750s and ended up passing.

I'm wondering if that's just owing to how late in the batch it is. Fresh, I got no cattiness at all.

I had it out of a growler last week and didn't find it catty, but I am sure that unrefrigerated travel / age affect those things. It was pretty tasty.

Expansion is moving along at what appears to be a very fast pace.

If anyone can help me out with Arthur and/or Brother Soigné please let me know. I threw up an ISO with bruery beers that got crickets. Figured those we're enticing but I guess not. I can always send $ and go over brewery cost if preferred.

Anyone try the Siren/Mikkeller/HF collab Limoncello IPA? Had it last week at Blackback. Really caught me off guard as a unique, tasty beer. The BA review shows bottles of it.... anyone know info on distro?

I sucked down three of those about a month ago in quick order.... and then found out it was 9%. Very cool beer, very tasty - and dangerously drinkable.

I believe bottles are UK only.

From the source, I was told very few kegs made it here. It's a very pricey beer (ingredients and importation and all). Outside of a few kegs, bottles aren't making their way over.

A look at RateBeer's user curated distro map shows only Europe so far - http://www.ratebeer.com/beer/distribution/212315/

it's an amazing beer.
Thanks for the info! Shaun needs to have those guys come out to VT and brew a batch at HF so we can get some growler fills of it at least.

Someone will likely correct me but the brewer at Siren is Ryan Witter who worked under / With Shaun at Fano Brewhouse in Copenhagen. They're close friends and Ryan brewed it but Shaun helped a lot with the recipe. Why Mikkeller's name is on this beer as well is unknown to me.

Edit:
Grassroots began before Hill Farmstead, back when Shaun was honing his skills in Denmark, and was originally focused as a collaborative project to raise funds for what would become Hill Farmstead. Shaun’s cohort Ryan Witter-Merithew brewed the brand at Fanø Bryghus for a while, but his recent departure (to become head brewer of the recently opened Siren Craft Brew, in Berkshire, England) put the ball firmly back in Shaun’s court.
