Gotta love the 'keep politics outta muh beer' replies to this. I mean, who would've ever guessed in a million yrs that HF embraces a particular moral and ethical worldview? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

He's not even saying if he agrees or disagrees with it. Just that its worth a watch. We can assume shaun agrees with it but ya never know. Otherwise he would have to take that tweet to the toxic topic threads

Also... if you don't want to read an obviously political link, don't?

I'm curious why Abner has never been canned. But then again neither has Edward. Perhaps some concern about the shelf stability/freshness of the particular hop combinations used?

Always imagined it was a tradition thing for Edward/Susan/Abner, like maybe he never intended to can, but begrudgingly did because it made sense financially and logistically, but those were his holdouts. I love the guessing and projection involved in HF decision making :)

There would be no turning back from Edward and Susan cans.

Reviving the old HF saison discussion, here's a 10/2013 Brother Soigne, my last bottle left from my first ever visit in 11/2013.

This bottle was in pretty exceptional shape. Definitely a lot of funk, but hasn't going into that super bready and/or oxidized state some don't reported on old bottles like this. Everyone at our share was very impressed and viewed this as a standout of the day. A lot of funk, but also nice tartness/acidity and a hint of citrus. One of my favorite HF selfie bottles I've opened.

3 FoFA's ago, that keg of b1 soigne was unbelievably good. you were there, yeah?

So happy to see that people are getting super excited about lager and helles. Hopefully Hill will be leading the way towards more people seeking out local, fresh lager resulting in more brewers making it and making it well.

It’s certainly very popular in Oregon and has been for quite some time. California and Washington, not so much, but it’s getting there.

It's definitely been on the uptick. Look at the popularity of Mary, Marie, and Suarez's beers. It's funny how some brewers let what the public wants drive what they brew more, but I've been saying that there are brewers who have heavy influence. If they brew and say they love lagers, people will give them a chance and it will grow that market.

I can't wait to try Memoria and Poetica 3.

I think what Os is saying is that we need a new batch of Process please. Although I will be by soon to try out the bitter.

I know that FOMO is basically the name of the beer game these days, but the HF dumpster fire group is exceptional even by those standards. So much consternation over whether or not there will be a limited release every week, time invested trying to figure out the optimal days/times to get boxed sets, and so on. Maybe my perspective is just a lot different because I'm so far away and so every visit to HF feels pretty special and I'm stoked to get things like the shelf saisons. I just can't imagine approaching planning and taking trips to HF with the mentality lots of those people have.
