I got to talk to the guy who showed up at 2am, I really don't think he meant to be malicious showing up so early, it was his first time visiting Hill Farmstead. He already planned to visit before the announcement, traveled up to NY for work the day before from Virginia. He didn't know the norms/expectations of Hill Farmstead releases. Obviously it was a mistake to show up so early, but my sense of him was that he's a nice genuine guy excited about the beer that mistakenly broke the unofficial rule not to show up for releases out of ignorance not malintent.

I also strongly doubt he sold it, hearing about his almost certainly very well-paid brain surgery job I really doubt he has the need to sell bottles for profit. If you can probably make $1000 in a day doing your day job why would take a day off and sell bottles after waiting 8 hours in the cold for them.

That all being said, f*** the guy selling those bottles.

I thought the people who showed up at 2am were an older couple who were there for their grandson's christmas gift request?

No they showed up between 6-7. Also the son (pretty sure he said son) didn't request it, they were doing it as a surprise. Which is super cool of them.

Sorry edit, more info.

Grandmules, in the flesh

I don't know, picking up a couple plum boxes as a surprise Xmas gift for your son that's away is cool. It's easy to call out people while on the internet as shitlords sending grandma to mule or showing up at 2am to sell bottles but none of these things are true according to conversations with these people. There clearly were shitlords in line, but neither of these people were them.

Unless they did it on their own, their kid/grandkid or whatever is a **** for even asking them to go there. I cannot imagine asking my parents or my grandparents to go stand in line for beer for me.

Yeah, the more I think about the grandparents the more ridiculous it becomes. My grandparents got me a pen and a crisp five dollar bill. MAYBE a sweater if times were good. You're telling me this sweet old couple is just gonna decide.....OUTTA THE ******* BLUE, to traipse to the Northeast Kingdom and buy not one, but two buck fiddy boxes of beer? Just cuz?

btw I've been drinking for several minutes already.

Love the Reservoir Dogs reference...

I wonder if they are still scanning ID's / phone numbers. If that's the case there's only handful of people who could be banned

So we've decided on these options:

1) Grandmules
2) Grandshitlords
3) Why am I Mr. Pink?
4) Did they tip?

Wasn't grandparents. The parents were local. There's a lot of misinformation floating around from I think just one guy on the Facebook group post.

Eh. Dont see the big deal in parents getting their son beer. I get how its ****** to ask your parents to stand in line in the cold hours before a place opens but if they do it on their own accord thats cool in my book.

I ask my parents to babysit so I can drive 6 hours to wait in line in the freezing cold to buy beer.
