it is drinking ******* awesome (abawol01 ). deep wine flavor and oakiness coming through that wasn't nearly as prominent when it was released. really, really ****** good.

also cameo from my roommate.

Looks like he's calling his dealer.
*scratches neck*
"Do you have any Vera Mae 2016..?"

He's pouring Bus, bro.

Gonna be up at Hill tomorrow around opening with a couple of friends in case anyone wants to touch tips and stuff.

That Flora Cherry/Raspberry has been calling my name for sometime now.

Also olives... Mmm olives

raw

so are we entering the dawn of HF bottled distro? (outside of fancy wine bars in montreal and a general store)

Yeah, wow. Otter Creek has been putting out some really nice stuff the last couple years, IMO. As far as readily available shelfies go, they're as good as you can get I think.

I completely agree. I feel they're often overlooked, but their stuff is quality and priced well. Free flow is a real nice beer.

Was also told by a friend who lives in Jehrico and is friends with Mike.

Otter Creek has a fuckton of rebranding and label changes to make.. Gerhart is plastered all over that brand.

That aside, Gerhart is a solid dude. I've been able to drink with him a few times and it was always a blast.

I may or may not have gotten stoned with him before. ;)

Guilty.

Drank with him a few times - Mike's an extremely creative dude (I think what you saw out of him at Otter Creek was tip of the iceberg stuff). Don't think this is going to lead to Susan in cans at the Bevy (but who knows) but Mike's a really good guy to bounce ideas off of.

Had a mess of a bottle share last night...I'll save you all from the pictures of my 2 oz pours, but:

Arthur Puncheon: Had back to back with a July '15 Arthur for comparison. I'd be lying if I said I recall exactly what blue-label Arthur tasted like but I dug this. Had more tartness, notably on the finish, than base Arthur. Also more oaky and dry...interested to see this develop.

CD19: This was crazy good for me - struck the balance between the threads and barrel. Had that wheaty, dry, tart Florence with the crispness of Arthur. Beautiful nose. One of the better CD's for me.

Elaborative 3: Was wrecked the last time I tried this so glad to get it again. Straight chocolate brownies. Touch of barrel. Just fantastic.

Elaborative 4: I know it's not limited or anything, but like, I love this beer. That is all.

Elaborative 5: This is doing really well - Rooibos is really coming out. I like this beer more and more each time I try it. Would love to dome a bottle of this.

Juicy b3: Good as always, tart, strong barrel, some fruity character. Not my favorite HF wine barrel beer but certainly nothing wrong with it.

M&C 8: Fan-friggin-tastic. Happy to drink this whenever.

Good times all around.

Looks like you put in some good work. E5 is a beer I wish I had 12 more bottles of.

I'll let someone else post the details but a new GoM variant is coming up.

Ahh screw it:

Birth of Tragedy: Kochere.

Imperial porter brewed with honey and aged on coffee in apple brandy barrels.

****. Apple Brandy. I'm going next week but like..****. Might have to do back-to-back.
