Drinking a 5.2014 Arthur. Tremendous, fairly dense. Good rich deep flavored of lemon custard, minerality the whole bit.

Maybe teetering on the other side, so I'd drink now

Still got 4 of these. Gotta hook that up tonight!

Oh man. Next month, me and the wife and a few friends are coming all the way from Portland (the west coast one) to experience the New England Life for the first time. We will grabbing a car in Boston and hitting Hill Farmstead on Friday, October 14th (there is also Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Maine, Connecticut, Rhode Island, and NYC built in their somewhere.

Quick question from someone who doesn't want to read through 748 pages - Is Friday usually a more calm day to visit? Am I going to be waiting in line for a long time? This is a smash and grab type of trip and standing for 2 hours will not fly (One of the reasons we aren't going to treehouse).

I AM SO EXCITED.

Are you planning on getting there around opening?

Yeah we are staying the night before just outside of Warren. So i think its a quick trip into Montpelier for coffee/breakfast and then up to Greensboro.

I don't think you'll have an issue, barring them releasing something crazy. I would line up for the tasting room for when they open to get your number for growler fills. If you're one of the first for growlers, just stay there and get onsite pours while you wait for your number to be called and your order to be filled. Then get bottles afterwards. If there are a few people in front of you for growlers you can get your number and then duck out to get your bottles purchase done before coming back to the tasting room for onsite pours while you wait for your number to be called.

kind of doing a disservice to yourself to not spend 2 hours at hill farm.. but if you can't swing it you can't swing it. Thursday probably a better day to avoid the long weekender visitors

Yeah I'll rephrase. I expect to spend some time there drinking on site, but I don't want to just be standing in line for 2 hours with no drink in my hand and nothing else to do. It sounds like they have a number system though? So that seems like it'll be perfect.

follow the steps axeman9182 said above... you'll have beer in hand... look out for onsite only bottles as well. there may be a food truck outside as well?.. but there should be cheese plates to go w/ the beer.... relax and enjoy while you wait for growler fills!

ah yeah i gotcha.. yeah the days of 2 hour waits and no beer in hand are gone. there was great conversation to be had back in those days.. you were kind of stuck with whomever was in line near you or snaked near you in passing.. you were all in it together... it was quite something really... so many emotions could be witnessed.. like some crazed social experiment. I'm glad i got to experience it like that as well as what it is now..... still shocked somebody didn't show up with like a gang of men on horses and bandanna's to "stick up" the place.... we did all have wads of cash and were corralled into a small space!

Personally I give my cheese board at least 90 minutes to warm.

So even if you come with a designated driver, there's a two drink limit? That seems kinda silly. I guess it's to keep people moving in and out of the place, which makes sense.
