I recently made a 6 gal. batch of hard iced tea using this recipe, https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f79/hard-iced-tea-71079/. I wasn't able to get the exact type of tea that the recipe called for, but im quite sure they both use hfcs as the sweetener.

I was halfway through making it when i realized all of this so i just continued to make it. The ferment did not seem to be taking off to quickly, so i did some searching on hfcs to see what people had to say. It seemed like mixed reviews. Some said it will take a very long time or wont ferment at all. Others said it will give off flavours. Does anyone know for sure if this is ok or should i scrap the brew and go get some better tea to start with?

So a little over a month has passed and my gravity has dropped only about ten points, from 1.062 to 1.052. Im assuming there is something wrong here.

Does anyone have any suggestions to try and speed this up a little. My last one gallon batch i made took 7 weeks from start to finish. Although it was a different brand of iced tea it was the same starting s.g., and used sugar instead of hfcs. I don't want this to be a 6 month brew.

You could try giving it a nice big stir to see if you can get things going. I stir twice a day in primary, until the wine gets to be around 1.020, before transferring to secondary and airlocking. That should help.
