Hi everyone -
I want to introduce myself.
I'm a bit of a beer nut (obviously).
I have a beer blog that I like to write on - www.beergenius.net
I decided that the logical next step for beer appreciation is to get into homebrewing, with grander plans slightly further down the road.
Unfortunately, I'm in Iraq for the next year (doing computer stuff), which significantly puts a damper on the whole 'brewing' thing. So I decided to do the next best thing - become a sponge for brewing knowledge.
My reading list:
--
Title: Brewing Up a Business: Adventures in Entrepreneurship from the Founder of Dogfish Head Craft Brewery
Author: Sam Calagione
--
Title: Beer School: Bottling Success at the Brooklyn Brewery
Author: Steve Hindy, Tom Potter, Michael R. Bloomberg
--
Title: Designing Great Beers: The Ultimate Guide to Brewing Classic Beer Styles
Author: Ray Daniels
--
Title: How to Brew: Everything You Need To Know To Brew Beer Right The First Time
Author: John J. Palmer
--
Title: The American Brewery: From Colonial Evolution to Microbrew Revolution
Author: Bill Yenne
--
Title: The Complete Joy of Homebrewing Third Edition (Harperresource Book)
Author: Charlie Papazian
--
Title: Brew Like a Monk: Trappist, Abbey, and Strong Belgian Ales and How to Brew Them
Author: Stan Hieronymus
--
Title: Radical Brewing: Recipes, Tales and World-Altering Meditations in a Glass
Author: Randy Mosher
--

If you all have any suggested additions, please send them my way! I know that nothing can compare to actually brewing and learning, but reading about it seems to be the next-best thing.
As with many things, brewing is as much of an art as it is a science. But I don't need to say that to you all! Anyway, I might as well know as much as I can coming into it.
For now I'll probably just lurk around and learn as much as I can. Expect to see some awesome stuff (I'm quite the optimist ) when I get back to the states!
