Greetings to everyone on the site. I just signed up and have been perusing about and really enjoy this site. I found a DIY MLT from Rubbermaid 10 gallon coolers and plan to set mine up tomorrow. I've been brewing off-and-on since 1994. I didn't really get serious about it until 3 years ago. I moved to Tulsa, Ok and found a great HB store called High Gravity. The people there were great and really helped me get equipped and piqued my interest in all-grain brewing. Since I was always an extract/specialty grain brewer, I was a little intimidated by all the mash tuns, sparges, lautering, etc., etc., so I never really persued it. Since moving back to Omaha and joining the Brew club at the German-American Society, I finally decided to go all-grain. My first all-grain batch is a Fuller's ESB clone. It's still in the secondary and will be kegged next week.
I guess I'm also a freak about cleanliness. I brewed some hideous batches of beer when I first started due to my inattentiveness to being clean. Since that time I feel attention to this has really increased the quality and consistency of my brew.
I really like to brew farmhouse ales and am working on a traditional biere de garde recipe. Off the topic, I also really enjoy building and flying radio-controlled planes.
So, that's me. Thanks to all that have helped me by their posts and don't know it.
Cheers!
