Howdy hello! I am just trying to get into home brewing and hit the jack pot! I work in the chemistry store room at UCSB part time and found THREE 5.5 gallon glass carboys that are no longer being used. They are made by pyrex and have spouts as well. I got to take one of them home today and now it is getting a soak (deep soak) but I should be up and brewing soon enough. Any advice for trying to make a nice Guinness-esk stout?

3.0 M H2SO4. Pretty safe. I am soaking in bleach right now to get the labels and what not off and really clean it out because it was stored in the solvents shed. Lots of dust and stuff. I've got a week until I get paid and can start brewing, so that should be plenty of time to get it super clean.
