I want to start by saying that forums like this are what is good about technology. old school neighborliness with a techno twist. knowledge unshared is knowledge wasted.I started brewing beer in 1995, wine in 1997, and have gotten back into it a month ago after a 14 year hiatus. the excitement and passion is full tilt again. I'm baking bread and brewing wine, beer is on hold till I go keg. This is an art. A great art. my mind is doing the math and postulating new recipes. thank you so much for all your info and help. brew on!

You came to the right place! After all my net wanderings, I settled on this site. We have beer to wine, mead, etc. We also have cooking & pairing, smoking, barbecue, cheese making, sausage making...just about anything to drink & eat. Enjoy!

let me share a bread recipe favorite of mine.
1 cup oats boiled in 2 cups water and let to sit 15 minutes
add 1 pkg active dry yeast(or beer yeast)to 1/4 cup warm water and let sit 10 minutes
add 1/3 cup honey,tablespoon butter, 2 teaspoons salt, and yeast to oats. mix well
work in 5 1/2 cups flour to mixture and knead for 3 minutes
cover and let rise for 10-15 minutes
knead dough till elastic,yet sticky,place in greased bowl and let rise one hour,covered
punch down/divide and place in pans
coat with extra butter oat mixture and bake at 350 for 40-50 minutes
